Founded in 1966, IVL locate its headquarters in Stockholm,
the capital of Sweden. Being one of the most powerful
institutions of environmental area in Europe, it has
research centers and certified laboratories in Stockholm,
Gothenburg and Aneboda. It also found an office in Bangkok,
Thailand, Swedish State Power Board (Vattenfall), the
?ngpannef?reningens Foundation for Research and Development
(?forsk) and the Foundation for the Swedish Environmental
Research Institute (SIVL) compose IVL's directorate.
IVL is also a member of IRIS (an organization representing
Sweden 's industrial research institutes), EurAqua and
Enero (both organizations representing European environmental
research institutes).
